Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

hail ("we", "us", or "our") operates the hail platform for PDR technicians. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our service.

Data Controller: hail is the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us regarding privacy matters at privacy@hail.app.

Data We Collect: We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and business details when you register. We also collect usage data such as work orders, invoices, and vehicle records you create within the platform. When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment information is handled directly by Stripe — we do not store your card details.

How We Use Your Data: We use your data to provide and improve the service, send transactional communications (account confirmations, invoices), and comply with legal obligations. Our legal basis for processing is the performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, where applicable, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Stripe Payments: We use Stripe, Inc. as our payment processor. When you enter payment details, they are transmitted directly to Stripe under their own Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy). We share only the minimum information necessary (e.g. your email and subscription plan) to process payments and manage your subscription.

Data Retention: We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, unless retention is required by law.

Your Rights: Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@hail.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Cookies: We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies without your consent. You can manage cookie preferences via the link in our footer.

International Transfers: Your data may be processed in countries outside the EEA where our infrastructure providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place for any such transfers.

Changes to This Policy: We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
